Hopewell Elementary School celebrated Jersey Fresh Farm to School Week with a visit from Double Brook Farm, which donated all the vegetables used for the week – veggies that were on the Sodexo menu for each day and veggies for the salad bar and veggies for everyone to taste, even those who did not buy lunch.


The veggies were picked up every morning, freshly picked, and the kitchen staff were really great about having to wash and cut up a whole lot of extra veggies. Tony Kowalak, Hopewell Valley District’s food service director, was enthusiastic too and visited with the farmers that week to talk about Farm to School.
