With support from the AtlantiCare Foundation, the conference will highlight collaborations in southern New Jersey among higher education, not-for-profit organizations, K-12 schools and community organizers who are bringing good food and nutrition education solutions to the region. The conference will be of interest to educators, healthcare providers, agricultural professionals, philanthropists, and students seeking degrees in education, healthcare, social sciences, agriculture and/or the culinary arts.

NJF2S Salute to NJ Representative Rush Holt at Hopewell Elementary School

On October 19, The New Jersey Farm to School Network paid tribute to NJ Congressman Rush Holt, who was the main sponsor behind the resolution that became law, designating October as National Farm to School Month.

Hopewell Elementary School was host to the event in their extensive school garden with members of Real Food for Thought, founders of the school’s garden as well as students from the Hopewell Elementary School’s Garden Club. Also in attendance were representatives from the US Department of Agriculture, the New Jersey Department of Agriculture, the District’s Food Service Management Company, Sodexo and adminstrators from the Hopewell School District.
